UV-Visible Spectroscopy: Definition, Meaning and Principle

Spectroscopy deals with interaction of Light (EMR) with Matter. If the Electromagnetic Radiations are in range of 200-400nm and 400-700nm (UV-Visible region) and they interact with matter this type of Spectroscopy is named as UV-Visible Spectroscopy.

UV-Visible Spectroscopy deals with interaction of Light (EMR)if wavelength in UV-Visible region with Matter.

PRINCIPLE:

The solution or Mixture of compound absorb light in UV-Visible region and involve promotion of electron from Ground state Molecular Orbitals  σ,.π,n to Antibonding orbitals σ*,.π*
