The sudden spontaneous action that we perform automatically are called as Reflex actions.
Reflex actions are controlled by our spinal cord.
Our nerves that detect signals are connected with our brain that move the muscles, this process of detecting signal by sensory neuron is called as INPUT and responding to it by motor neurons is called as OUTPUT, this quick action is called as REFLEX ARC.
Reflex arc is formed in Spinal cord.
The reflex action has evolved as an efficient way of functioning in absence of thought process. Reflex actions are sudden and without any thinking.
It is only for quick response not for Voluntary actions like walking.
