What are Synthetic Varieties
- Synthetic varieties are the variety of plant produced by intercrossing several inbreed lines to create variations.
- Synthetic varieties are created by combining various lines or populations through intercrossing by (GCA) or for combining ability with one another.
Steps INVOLVED:
- STEP 1: Testing the plants for GCA
- STEP 2: Plants having High GCA were selected.
- STEP 3: The chosen parental lines having High GCA are intercrossed.
- STEP 4: Equal number of seeds from all Parents were combined and planted.
- STEP 5: Then the Open Pollinated seeds harvested as SYNTHETIC VARIETY
