HETEROSIS MEANING
Heterosis can be defined as the superiority of the F1 individuals over its parents.
In most of the cases the offspring is superior.
The term is first used by Shull in 1914.
It deals with Fertility and have adaptive significance.
It may also result in masking of deleterious genes.
Hybrid Vigor is the synonym used for Heterosis
EXAMPLE: Many tomatoes in F1 exhibit earliness and faster development so that vegetative phase is replaced by reproductive phase

LUXURIANCE on the other hand is just opposite of Heterosis Or Hybrid Vigor
